“Why A Stewardship Campaign?”
January 13, 2010 |
The purpose of a stewardship campaign is to strengthen every believer in the local church. A Christian’s business in God’s business. God has instructed us on how to use our time, talent, and treasures for the glory of God. Therefore, a stewardship campaign should educate church members about how to manage God’s resources.
TIME
- Time is a gift to us.
- Do your best at all times.
- Stewardship includes managing your work, maintain your temple (body), taking care of family.
- In no other segment of our lives do we all begin equally. We all have 24 hours of time each day to glorify the Lord.
TALENT
- Stewardship means identifying the spiritual gifts and talents of each member.
- Focus on a ministry of service.
- Each member makes a commitment to use their spiritual gifts routinely to do the work of God in the church.
TREASURE
-
10% of what is earned (gross income) is required by God to be obedient to his word.
-
Offerings are above and beyond the tithe.
-
Identify different “pockets” the congregational will give to such as building fund, evangelism, routine expenses, scholarship, and missions.
