If you missed this week at St. Matthew UMC, April 18, 2010, the praises went up and the blessings of the Lord came down. The Praise Ensemble ushered us into the Spirit of Praise and Worship rendering the selections; I Call You Holy, Let It Rise, and I Feel the Presence. The Holy Spirit prepared all hearts to receive the Word of God as our Praise Ensemble ministered in song rendering the selection I Will Bless The Lord before the sermon. Pastor Holston’s sermon titled was “Fireproof” which is the first sermon of Pastor Holston’s Profiles in Courage Series. What a powerful message from God! The text of the sermon was taken from Daniel 3: 8-30. Pastor taught us how courage is performing effectively in the presence of fear. God does not give us the spirit of fear. He taught us how to stand in courage by giving us three key points

* Experience God
* Have a Relationship with God
